Installing DiskPrune

  1. Open DiskPrune.dmg — a window appears with the app icon.
  2. Drag DiskPrune.app into the Applications folder shortcut.
  3. Eject the disk image (drag it to the Trash, or press ⌘E).
  4. Open Finder → Applications → double-click DiskPrune.
  5. First launch: macOS asks if you're sure. Click Open.

That's it. No right-click tricks, no System Settings detour. The app is notarized.

Full Disk Access (optional)

DiskPrune scans without Full Disk Access, but some protected folders (Mail, Messages, Time Machine) only show byte counts — not filenames — unless you grant it. Grant it in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access.

Cleanup license

Scanning is always free. Moving items to Trash needs the lifetime license: $12 with code FOUNDING (applied automatically from our Buy buttons), $19 after the first 100 customers.
